A native of Puerto Rico, Victor M. Ortega became interested in photography as a young child. During his teens, Ortega participated in various social cultural activities in Puerto Rico that included theater, dancing and music. The Police Athletic League was Ortega’s first opportunity to engage with the local community in numerous settings and for a diverse demographic.
It was not until about 15 years later that Ortega was recognized as an artist among his friends in the bustling urban settings of both New York City and Philadelphia. Though he was recognized as Manuel Ortga for his photography work, in 1986 he created Ortga Foto. In 1993, Ortega cofounded what is today known as The Organization of Puerto Rican Artists, Inc. (O.P. Art), a 501(c)3 organization. Ortega served on the Board of Directors of O.P. Art until 1995 when he relocated to Central Florida.
By the time Ortega moved to Orlando, Florida, he had completed nearly 12 years in real estate management. In the mid ‘90s, Ortega began his career in Marketing and Sales for a travel and hospitality company. In 2007, Victor M. Ortega joined Attribute Marketing Corp. while also serving as Chairman for the Code Enforcement of City of Minneola, Florida.
Today Victor M. Ortega enjoys of a more settled lifestyle and is dedicating more time to his faith, his son and projects that meet his vision such as youth program, awareness programs, regional economic development, social-cultural events and the arts.
